The Freemasons Tavern, Beverley

“The Freemasons Hotel dates back to the year 1886, when the first building was erected by Mr. H. H. Sewell.  As the picture shows, it was a typical country hostelry – small bar accommodation and rambling apartments”….1908 saw the development of the site and a new building was erected. The Freemasons was known as one of the best hotels in the Great Southern. Good location, airy rooms, roomy hall, wide passages, lounge, commercial and billiard rooms and convenient dining room – all well lighted.”
